At the regular board meeting October 4, 2016, the White Pigeon Township Board voted to add $100.00 to the cost of a grave site. By Resolution #16-10, starting October 11, 2016, the White Pigeon Township will be adding $100.00 to the cost of a grave site purchase. This will serve as down payment toward the foundation for a permanent monument. In the event that a headstone is not purchased within the time allotted (by ordinance #76, sec. 7-38b, and paragraph 4) the $100.00 will serve to install a foundation for the small marker used by funeral homes. This marker will then serve as the permanent marker. If in the future a headstone is purchased the small marker would be removed. The $100.00 will not be refunded.

Due to the number of storage sheds cropping up on properties in the Township, we will begin enforcing a Township Ordinance concerning all storage buildings. You must get zoning approval before setting a pre-built or building a storage shed on your property. If the storage shed is more than 200 square feet you must get zoning approval and a building permit. All buildings must meet setbacks and Michigan Building Codes. If you have questions feel free to contact the Township office during regular business hours.
…..ISF – Insufficient funds…..
Starting May 1, 2014 if a check is returned to the township due to ISF a $30.00 fee will be charged to you. If we receive from you a second check with ISF you will no longer be allowed to pay by check. Any money owed to our township will have to then be paid by cash, bank check or money order. This goes for tax payments as well. If a tax payment check is returned due to ISF you will have to pay the original tax amount, any late fee and the $30.00 ISF fee.

The Township Building Inspector, Joe Wickey is available by appointment. If you are in need of an appointment you may call the township office, 269-483-7043 Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm. Joe will also have regular Friday morning office hours, 9am-10am.
